Tied by Mike “LI Flies” Ozkaya, right here on Long Island, NY. Invented by Lefty Kreh, deceivers are a staple pattern for Northeast saltwater fly fishing. This is a classic pattern for striped bass, bluefish, and really just about any saltwater fish that swims. Really, any fish that feeds on small to medium size baitfish. These flies are tied on a strong Mustad C70SD hook. They also work great as a teaser for surfcasting applications when fished ahead of a plug.
